To reach this hidden upper route, you need to gain height using elevated platforms or a well-timed wall jump off the nearby pipe structure. Equipped with the Drill Power-Up or by using the Jet Run badge, reaching these upper ledges becomes considerably easier. Once atop the ceiling structure, walk forward to enter a hidden foreground pipe that leads into the background area.
Navigating the Background Area Steps
Crossing into the background area shifts your perspective and allows you to walk along the upper backdrop of the level. Follow the straight path to the right while avoiding any roaming enemies that patrol the background pipes. Continuing past these obstacles brings you directly to a distinct red Warp Pipe situated at the end of the elevated ledge.
Entering this red Warp Pipe will transport your character back to the main foreground near a hidden goal pole zone. Jump across the final gap and hit the top of the flag to secure a full clearance. Reaching this point completes the secret exit route and triggers the discovery animation on the World Map.

Completing this alternate finish rewards you with a second Wonder Seed required for 100% course completion. Additionally, completing the hidden goal unblocks an alternate route on the Pipe Rock Plateau map overview.
